Maria Sol Varisco-Santini
Biodanza Facilitator - LOAN 2310 - IBFed
Making dreams come true…
I am Sol Varisco-Santini. I am a teacher from Argentina, living in Iowa for the last 23 years. I studied English and Spanish at Iowa State University and have worked as a community leader in non-profit organizations helping immigrant and refugee communities statewide for more than 14 years. I’ve also worked in small and large corporations. Throughout my experiences as an immigrant, employee and community leader, I realized the need for more holistic mental health alternatives in Iowa.
I fell in love with Biodanza since my first class in 2014, and participated in weekly classes in Argentina for 3 years. I returned to Iowa in 2017 with the promise to find a school in the United States and complete the certification to bring the benefits of Biodanza to Iowa. I received the support of family and friends as I traveled one weekend a month to Los Angeles between 2019 and 2021 (through Covid-19 protocol & restrictions) and obtained my certification in 2022 from the Los Angeles School of Biodanza.
I am commited to sharing the same love, care and healing that I’ve received from Biodanza with others around the world. Biodanza is the most holistic human integration system that I’ve ever experienced; where language, culture, race and socio-economic status, are not barriers to being part of a transformative movement, based on the Bio-Centric principle that honors, respects and protects life in all its manifestations.

I am Deyanira Contreras. Biodanza found me about 15 years ago and fell in love with the system ever since, due to its impact and the transformation it has generated in my life. Dancing is the way I have chosen to live. I am committed to experiencing life through dance and to sharing the experience of Biodanza with everyone. As a result, I completed training and certification as a Biodanza facilitator from the Los Angeles School of Biodanza, in Southern CA and am currently co-facilitating a weekly group in Des Moines, Iowa.
I am a lover of life, coffee, words, the beach and the human spirit - in that order; or any other! I’ve always been inspired to write and have recently embraced myself as a poet, publishing a collection of poetry, All things can be true /Todo puede ser cierto. Born in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico, I migrated to Southern California in 1984 and relocated to Des Moines, Iowa in April 2023.
